See A New Smile In Little Time With Dental VeneersWednesday, February 15th, 2017
Why are people interested in cosmetic dentistry? To make their teeth whiter? To make their smiles looks straighter? To repair damaged teeth?
For many people, dental veneers are a good option to solve all of those problems. If your smile doesn’t look like you want, then you can contact our dentist office in Danville, IL, to discuss dental veneers or one of our many other services.
At Advanced Smile Arts, we want you to have a smile that you are happy to share with the world.
A Versatile Smile Solution
We alluded to some of the things dental veneers can do in our introduction. Here, we will go into more detail about issues that veneers can fix:
◼︎ Whiten your smile
When you think whiter smiles, it’s understandable if teeth whitening is the first thing that comes to mind. Professional teeth whitening can remove deep stains to restore the color of your smile.
The problem is that stains are only one of the reasons your teeth may be yellow or dark. Your teeth can change colors as a reaction to some medications. Illnesses and injuries can affect the whiteness of your smile, and worn down enamel can make the yellow dentin underneath more visible.
With dental veneers, you make your smile whiter no matter why it is discolored.
◼︎ Straighten your smile
Orthodontic treatments are wonderful, and we want to state at the outset that orthodontic care is the only way to fix some problems. With that in mind, you can still do a lot with a quality set of dental veneers.
You may have crooked teeth. Veneers can change how they look in the mirror and to the people you talk to on a daily basis.
You may have crowded teeth. Veneers can make them look more evenly spaced.
You may have gaps between two or more of your teeth. If so, veneers can help you by filling in that extra space.
And if dental veneers could help you, then you could have a new smile in a matter of weeks instead of a few years.
◼︎ Repair chipped teeth
We do so many things intentionally and accidentally that can cause chips in our teeth.
Chewing ice, opening packages with your teeth, and biting into hard foods are just a few of the things many people do that can cause chips to form in your teeth. Accidents and injuries can add to those problems as well.
If you have teeth that don’t look quite like they used to, dental veneers can restore them to their original shape and size.
These are just some of the ways dental veneers could improve your smile. Call 217-703-4536 to find out if veneers are right for you at our dentist office in Danville, IL.
The Dental Veneers Process
The process for dental veneers generally takes a few weeks once you have decided that’s what you would like.
During your initial visit, Dr. Mike Fuesting can examine your teeth to determine if they are healthy enough to support dental veneers. Assuming you are a good candidate for veneers, the next step will be making impressions of your teeth.
These impressions will be sent to a laboratory, where they will design a custom-made set of veneers to fit over your teeth.
When your dental veneers are ready, you will return to Advanced Smile Arts to have them placed. Once they are bonded in place, you may be surprised at how different your teeth look.
With proper care and maintenance, your veneers can last for decades. Modern veneers are more stain resistant than natural teeth. This means you can sustain your white smile longer with veneers.
We want to go back to the impressions stage of the process for a moment.
For many kinds of veneers, our dentist may need to remove a thin layer of enamel to create space for your veneers. This is generally done before the impressions of your teeth are made.
With no-prep veneers, however, it may be possible to fit your veneers without removing any enamel. No-prep veneers are thinner than other veneers. This is why they can be bonded to your teeth with minimal preparations.
